How can you improve the learning experience of Great Learning Users
Great Learning is a platform that offers online courses and programs in various domains such as data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, business analytics, and more. While Great Learning provides valuable resources for skill development and career advancement.
Clarifying Questions
- What specific challenges are faced by learners? If this is specific to existing learners or new learners?
- Is the problem related to specific categories of courses or the level of complexity of course content?
- If the problem is specific to the user segment, do students or professionals find the course content relevant to a level of accuracy? Are they facing challenges with the category breakdown of courses, or is it an issue related to the user interface or functionalities?
- If users are looking for more interactive or intuitive design features on the platform, how can we make the platform more engaging and motivated for the users who feel a lack of interactivity & boredom?
- Are the users able to discuss their problems related to the course content, or if required, is expertise provided to them with adequate resources?
Here are some potential user pain points for Great Learning.
- Complexity of Content: Some users may find the course content too complex or advanced, especially if they are beginners or have limited prior knowledge in the subject area. This could lead to frustration and difficulty in understanding the material.
- Lack of personalized learning paths: Users may struggle to find courses that align with their specific learning goals, interests, and skill levels. Without personalized recommendations or learning paths, users may feel overwhelmed by the vast array of course options available.
- Limited Interactivity and Engagement: Online courses on Great Learning may lack interactive elements or engagement features that keep users motivated and actively involved in the learning process. This could result in decreased retention and effectiveness of the learning experience.
- Inadequate Support and Guidance: Users may encounter challenges or questions while navigating the course materials or completing assignments, but they may not receive timely or sufficient support from instructors or support staff. This could hinder their progress and overall satisfaction with the learning platform.
Proposed Solutions
- Course categorization should be based on ‘Beginners, Intermediates & Professionals’ levels, so it would be easy for users to choose as per their level of knowledge.
- Personal recommendations can be offered to users as per their education and on-demand skills, according to the profile to which they are aspiring.
- At the time of learning courses, the learner's progress should be shown to keep them informed about the course's progress. Shareable skill badges and gamified features can be provided, like quizzes, puzzles, or case studies.
- For user support & guidance, discussion forums and an open community can be provided to discuss Q&A with friends & experts, solve problems, and discuss topics deeply.
- There should be an option available for language selection, as currently, all courses are available only in English.
- Dashboard design should be more clear, classified, and specific. Currently, new users are not aware of course availability or the level of content needed to attract more learners.
